A Brief History of the Airport

Al Qaisumah/Hafr Al Batin Airport was established in 1978, following expansion works that transformed a modest existing airstrip into a facility capable of handling larger aircraft and scheduled commercial services. Prior to that, the runway had served only small aircraft carrying employees of Saudi Aramco. The airport now operates a single terminal stretching across a total area of 0.0023 sq km, with a passenger handling capacity of approximately 150,000 per year.
