For those travelling to New York City by private jet charter, Teterboro Airport (TEB/KTEB) remains the preferred gateway — a dedicated general aviation facility that keeps you entirely apart from the commercial crowds at LaGuardia, JFK and Newark. Prime Jet Services arranges seamless charter flights into and out of Teterboro, handling every detail from wheels-up in Dubai to your arrival in Manhattan.

Teterboro Airport: Charter Specifications

Teterboro Airport serves exclusively general aviation, making it the natural choice for private arrivals into the New York City area. The airport sits conveniently close to Manhattan; a direct bus service connects to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown, and rail connections into the city are also available from New Jersey.

  • Full name: Teterboro Airport
  • IATA code: TEB
  • ICAO code: KTEB
  • Runways: 2 (7,000 ft and 6,013 ft)

A recent legislative measure limits aircraft above 100,000 pounds from operating at Teterboro, a restriction introduced to reduce noise pollution for local residents.

Charter Amenities at Teterboro

Flying privately through Teterboro means bypassing the congestion that characterises New York’s commercial terminals entirely. On board, you have access to a private in-air lounge and contemporary cabin facilities throughout the flight.

Our concierge team supports every aspect of your journey. Services available to charter clients include:

Clients seeking greater flexibility on routing or timing may also wish to explore our available empty-leg flights, which can offer considerable value on select sectors.

Getting into Manhattan

Teterboro’s proximity to Midtown Manhattan is one of its principal advantages over the city’s commercial airports. Key distances from the airport include:

  • Central Park, New York City: 13 miles

Ground transfers can be arranged directly by our team, whether by chauffeur-driven car, luxury rental or onward connection at Port Authority Bus Terminal.

New York City: What to Expect

New York City rewards every type of visitor, whether arriving for business, leisure or both. The following represent some of the city’s most enduring draws:

  • Broadway: The theatre district offers daily performances ranging from long-running productions to new works before they reach wider audiences. The quality of performance is consistently world-class.
  • The Empire State Building: Situated in Midtown Manhattan and once the tallest building in the world, the Empire State Building offers observation deck views across the entire city. It is easily reached via the New York City subway.
  • The Chrysler Building: Another celebrated Midtown skyscraper, architecturally distinctive and widely regarded as one of the finest examples of Art Deco design in the United States.
  • Rockefeller Center: Home to several NBC television studios and, during the winter months, a well-known outdoor ice skating rink.
  • One World Trade Center: Currently the tallest building in New York City, the tower features an observation deck at its summit offering unobstructed views across the metropolitan area.
  • Brooklyn Bridge: Walking the bridge across the East River connects Manhattan with Brooklyn and provides clear sightlines to Downtown Manhattan and, in the distance, the Statue of Liberty. Completing the crossing also gives you the opportunity to explore Brooklyn, one of the city’s five boroughs.

A Brief History of Teterboro Airport

Teterboro is the oldest operating airport in the New York City area, with its first recorded flight taking place in 1919. The site previously housed a manufacturing plant producing wartime supplies during the First World War. During the Second World War, the airport was operated by the United States Army. Postwar administration passed to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, under whose stewardship Teterboro developed into the principal private aviation port of entry for the New York metropolitan area.
