Split Airport is one of the Adriatic’s most sought-after gateways, and a private jet charter to Split places you at the heart of Dalmatia with minimal fuss and maximum comfort. Prime Jet Services operates charter flights to and from Split Airport (SPU/LDSP), giving you the flexibility to arrive on your own schedule and step directly into one of Europe’s most captivating coastal cities. Whether you are travelling for business or leisure, Split rewards the discerning traveller at every turn.
Formally known as Zračna luka Split, Split Airport handles a substantial volume of traffic each summer, capable of processing more than 50,000 passengers in a single weekend during peak season. Despite this scale, the airport is well-configured for private jet operations alongside its commercial schedule.
Split Airport accommodates private jet arrivals and departures alongside commercial traffic, and the single-terminal layout means minimal ground time between landing and onward travel. Prime Jet Services manages every element of your journey, from flight planning and crew briefing to ground transfers and hotel arrangements, so that nothing requires your attention beyond simply arriving.
When you book a charter flight with Prime Jet Services to Split, your experience includes access to the following facilities and concierge services:
Clients seeking greater flexibility on pricing should also explore our empty-leg flights, which offer access to the same aircraft and service standards at a significantly reduced cost.
Split’s old town is the natural starting point for any visit. Cobblestoned lanes wind between medieval façades, and the shopping here is surprisingly refined — silk cravats, gourmet chocolates and independent boutiques sit alongside world-class restaurants where you can pause and restore yourself between explorations. A guide or a detailed map is well worth having; the streets are narrow and layered, and it is easy to miss significant corners without one.
The most celebrated landmark within the old town is Diocletian’s Palace, a fourth-century complex commissioned by the Roman Emperor Diocletian as a combined palace, fortress and residential city. You enter through the original gate, and the scale of what lies within remains genuinely impressive. Visiting in the evening brings live music drifting through the courtyards; arriving earlier in the day means quieter passages and more room to look properly.
Diocletian’s mausoleum was consecrated as a church in the seventh century and has since evolved into the Cathedral of Saint Domnius. Successive generations of artists and craftsmen have each contributed to its interior, making it a layered record of European ecclesiastical art. The bell tower is accessible to those willing to climb it, and the views across the city from the top are among the finest in Split.
The first route to use the original airfield outside Split flew in 1931, when the facility was little more than a grass runway serving other Yugoslav cities. In the 1960s, the airport relocated to its current site, and a new terminal building opened in 1979. Operations were severely curtailed during the Yugoslav Wars of the early 1990s, but the years since have brought sustained growth driven by rising tourism demand. A significant redesign was completed in 2005, and the airport now plays a central role in connecting Split to the rest of Europe throughout the summer season.
Prime Jet Services provides private jet charter to Split and destinations across Europe and beyond, with every detail managed by our team from enquiry through to arrival. Flights can be arranged for business travel, leisure, or any combination of the two — regional hops within Europe or longer international sectors are equally straightforward to organise. Contact us to discuss routing, aircraft type and scheduling, and we will put together an itinerary suited precisely to your requirements.
