Originally established in 1964 as Qassim International Airport, the facility was renamed in 2012 in honour of Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz, who served as Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia and First Deputy Prime Minister from 2011 to 2012. Today the airport serves 11 airlines operating across 15 destinations in Saudi Arabia and 4 international countries, providing straightforward connectivity to neighbouring provinces including Hail and Riyadh. The Al-Qassim region itself is home to more than 1.2 million people across over 400 cities and Bedouin settlements, and is widely regarded as Saudi Arabia’s agricultural heartland.
