What is an empty-leg flight?

When a private jet has to fly with no passengers — repositioning for its next booking or returning to base — that one-way "empty leg" is offered at a steep discount. It is the same aircraft and crew as a full charter, simply on a route the operator is already flying.

How much can I save on an empty leg?

Typically 30–75% off the standard private-charter price, depending on the route, the aircraft and how flexible your dates are. Our quarterly Empty-Leg Savings Index measures the real average from live inventory — currently around 40% across all classes, and over 50% on light jets.

How do I book an empty leg?

Can empty-leg dates or routes change?

They can. Empty legs follow the operator's repositioning schedule, so they are subject to availability and can shift or be withdrawn at short notice if the original charter changes. A little date flexibility makes them easier to secure.
