Al-Ahsa International Airport (IATA: HOF, ICAO: OEAH) serves the Eastern Province city of Hofuf in Saudi Arabia, and private jet charter to Al-Ahsa offers a markedly more efficient alternative to the airport’s limited commercial schedule. Prime Jet Services arranges bespoke charter flights to and from Al-Ahsa, ensuring seamless connections across the Gulf region and beyond.
Al-Ahsa International Airport is located approximately 20 km from Hofuf city centre, sitting at an elevation of 179 m (588 ft) above sea level. Its principal specifications are as follows:
Key distances from the airport:
Al-Ahsa is well positioned for private jet travel across the Gulf and the wider Arabian Peninsula. Typical flight durations from HOF include:
Clients departing Dubai will find that Al-Ahsa is among the more convenient regional destinations by private aircraft. If your schedule is flexible, our empty-leg flights may offer a cost-effective option on select routes.
Every Prime Jet Services charter to Al-Ahsa includes streamlined boarding, swift security clearance and dedicated ground-side assistance. Passengers move directly from the terminal to the aircraft without the delays associated with commercial travel. Our standard service offering encompasses:
On arrival at HOF, Prime Jet Services can arrange chauffeured limousine transfers directly to your destination in or around Hofuf. This removes any reliance on public transport and ensures continuity of the private travel experience from departure gate to final destination. The same service is available in reverse for departing passengers.
Hofuf is one of the largest cities in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province and a notable centre for higher education, home to King Faisal University, which encompasses faculties of medicine, veterinary science, agriculture and economics, among others. The city’s population exceeds 150,000, with a significant expatriate community largely connected to the regional petroleum industry.
Al-Ahsa sits in proximity to the Ghawar oil field, one of the world’s largest conventional petroleum reserves. The region experiences a hot desert climate, with temperatures reaching up to 50 °C in July. Despite the heat, Al-Ahsa attracts visitors drawn to Saudi Arabian culture, local parks and recreation areas, as well as its deep-rooted place in Arab legend — the city is associated in tradition with the journey of the Queen of Sheba and with the story of Laila and Majnoon, the celebrated lovers of classical Arab and Persian literature.
The present-day airport near Al-Ahsa was established in the late 1970s, initially serving regional routes only. Its facilities took on greater strategic importance during Operation Desert Shield and the First Gulf War in 1991, when the site was used as an airbase by the French Air Force. The airport gained full international status in 2011 following a series of renovation and upgrade works, and has been handling international arrivals and departures since 2009.
